2025 Summer Storage Information

 

Please read this information carefully before dropping off your summer storage! After reading, direct any unanswered questions to cleaners@hsa.net. This will be the only inbox for summer storage questions.

If you have bought summer storage, you can register your boxes, sign up for a date, and print your box labels on this website: https://trendstudentstorage.com/studentdashboard/home

It will ask you for your HUID and your Order Number from HSADORMESSENTIALSXXXXX. The XXXXX is your order number.

For BOXES: You may pick up boxes that you bought at 69 Mt. Auburn St. from 1-3PM Monday-Saturday.

Only 18” x 18” x 24” boxes are accepted!

OPERATIONS

How it all works:
  1. Go to https://dormessentials.hsa.net/collections/summer-storage-and-boxes and buy the # of storage units as # of boxes that you will store with us ($21.50/unit box of storage for the entire summer).
    • You can pick up boxes at 69 Mt. Auburn St. at HSA beginning 4/15 1-3PM M-Sat.
    • If you wish to store three boxes, you will buy THREE units of summer storage
    • The boxes must be 18” x 18” x 24” (it cannot be smaller or larger)
    • You can also buy boxes on the website for $4/box, or buy a bundle of ONE storage spot and ONE box for $25.
  2. Once you have bought summer storage, you can register your boxes and get your box labels on this website: https://trendstudentstorage.com/studentdashboard/home
    • Register and agree to the terms and conditions
    • Sign up for a date and time slot. Please ensure that you will be able to make both the drop-off and pick-up dates, as changing this will incur a fee.
  3. Once registered, you will receive a label in your email. Print out your label and tape it to your packed box.
    • YOUR BOX WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT A LABEL
    • There will be a unique label for EACH box
    • If you buy extra boxes later, you edit your registration in the portal to get more labels
  4. Bring it to one of the locations listed for your registered drop-off during the operational hours
    • Do not leave any important documents or items you may need during the storage window
  5. When you come back in August, pick-up at the corresponding date from the same location (unless you drop-off at Littauer).

DROP-OFF/PICK-UP DATES AND LOCATIONS

These dates are not flexible as to keep the storage as cost-effective as possible! You will be charged $50.00 for missing your drop-off date and pick-up dates. Please arrive within the allotted time windows.

River Drop-off and Pickup:

Where: 14-18 Mill St. (in front of Winthrop Grille)

When: 10am - 4pm (for all dates)

  • Drop-off: Monday, May 12th, 2025; Pick-up: Thursday, August 28th, 2025
  • Drop-off: Wednesday, May 14th, 2025; Pick-up: Friday, August 29th, 2025
  • Drop-off: Friday, May 16th, 2025; Pick-up: Saturday, August 30th, 2025
Quad Drop-off and Pick-Up:

Where: Quad Main Lot between Bertram and Eliot Halls

When: 10am - 2pm (for all dates)

  • Drop-off at Littauer Parking Lot: Monday, May 12th, 2025; Pick-up at Quad: Thursday, August 28th, 2025
  • Drop-off: Wednesday, May 14th, 2025; Pick-up: Friday, August 29th, 2025
  • Drop-off: Friday, May 16th, 2025; Pick-up: Saturday, August 30th, 2025

Littauer Drop-off for Quadded Freshman:

Where: Littauer Parking Lot

When: Monday, May 12th, 10am - 2pm

  • Drop-off at Littauer Parking Lot: Monday, May 12th, 2025; Pick-up at Quad: Thursday, August 28th, 2025

*Please note that the drop-off and pick-up locations are different for quadded freshman

Insurance on Boxes

Please regard the following in the event of lost or damaged boxes.

Value Protection Insurance: In the event of a total loss, a box weighing an assumed 40LBS would pay out at $6.00 per LBS. Example: 40LBS x $6.00 = $240 per box.

In the event of a damaged item, Trend Moving Storage (our partnered vendor) holds the right to:

  • Repair the item to a satisfactory level
  • Replace with similar item
  • Make a cash settlement for the cost of the repair or the current market replacement value with a value of no more than $240

What is Not Covered:

  • Boxes that are improperly packed with items that are prohibited within TMS terms and conditions
  • Items of high value will not be protected under any protection levels by TMS
  • High value items are considered to be items valued in excess of $100.00 per LBS
  • Any breach of terms and conditions resulting in loss or damage

Frequently Asked Questions

Pick up/Drop-off:

Q: Can my friends drop-off or pick-up my boxes?

A: Friends or someone you know are allowed to pick up/drop-off boxes for you if you are unable to make your pick-up date. The person will need to provide proof that you are allowing them to pick up your boxes.

Q: Oh no! I missed my drop-off date!

A: If you miss your drop-off date, within 10 days of the last drop-off date, you can pay an additional $50.00 late pick-up fee and bring it to 69 Mt. Auburn St.

Q: Oh no! I can’t make my pick-up date!

A: If you email us 24 hours ahead of time that you will miss your pick-up day, your box will be stored for pick up on September 3, 2024. Any boxes leftover that were not classified as late pick-up via email are entitled to a $50.00 late fee.

Q: I need to access my boxes before the pick-up date!

A: Send an email to cleaners@hsa.net and all your boxes will arrive at 69 Mt. Auburn St. within 48 hours (or 2 business days) for a $200.00 fee. The deadline for requesting early box pick-up is 8/22 at 5:00PM EST. You must arrive within an arranged time slot if you wish the boxes to be sent back for summer storage.

Q: Where do I pick up my boxes?

A: If you dropped your boxes in the quad, pick them up at the same place. If you dropped them off at the River, pick them up at the MAC lawn. Quadded freshmen pick up at the quad location if they dropped off at Littauer.

Q: Can I split my boxes over 2 days?

A: Yes, but each set must be picked up on the date corresponding to its drop-off. You must be on campus for the matching fall dates.

Q: Will the movers pick up boxes from my room and drop them off in my room when I return in the fall?

A: They will not. Drop-off and pick-up are at centralized campus locations. For in-room service, consider Collegeboxes (info is in your college email).

Q: When does the signup period close?

A: Once capacity is reached in the Trend portal. Sign up early for dates you can attend.

Q: What if my item is larger than 18” x 18” x 24”?

A: You can purchase storage for bulk/irregular items through the Trend portal at https://trendstudentstorage.com/studentdashboard/home.

Q: Oh no! I need extra boxes!

A: Buy extras at https://dormessentials.hsa.net/collections/summer-storage-and-boxes and register them through the storage portal.

Q: Oh no! I bought too many boxes?

A: Update your unit count on the Trend site and email cleaners@hsa.net for a refund.

Q: What are the box sizes, and will any be provided?

A: Boxes must be 18” x 18” x 24”. Others can be stored for an added cost. Purchase boxes at https://dormessentials.hsa.net/collections/summer-storage-and-boxes and pick up at 69 Mt. Auburn St., 1–3pm Mon–Sat.

Q: How do I transport my boxes to the designated location?

A: Dollies are available at Yard Ops for freshmen and at your Building Manager’s Office for upperclassmen.

Q: I'm moving out early/late. Do I have to go without my bedding?

A: Unfortunately, these are the only storage dates offered to keep it affordable. Suggestions:

  • Live out of luggage — many students do this successfully.
  • Have someone drop-off your boxes for you.
  • Ship essential items (like bedding) home separately.

Q: I’m a senior and want to store. Is that fine?

A: Yes, but you must pick up your items on the standard dates with other students.

Q: Am I still eligible if I’m not living on campus right now?

A: Yes! All Harvard undergraduates are eligible for the program.
